Mission

True to the culture of SAGE and in keeping with the company’s corporate vision statement that says in part, “SAGE believes passionately that engaged scholarship lies at the heart of any healthy society and that education is intrinsically valuable,” SAGE is committed to strengthening its ties to the community, both globally and locally.

As befits a company devoted to education and the dissemination of knowledge, much of SAGE’s civic efforts are focused on increasing educational opportunities. SAGE continues to support select organizations providing human/social services and resources that strengthen communities where SAGE employees live and work.

Philanthropic Focus

Over the last several years, SAGE has invested millions of dollars and committed millions more to organizations that reflect SAGE’s core values and complement SAGE’s dedication to impacting lives in inspiring and innovative ways. SAGE’s philanthropic efforts are focused in the following areas:

Education
As an academic and professional publisher, SAGE funds organizations and programs that focus on strengthening higher education and/or improving pre-K to 12 education.

Social/Human Services
For 45 years, SAGE has published books and journals in a multitude of disciplines, with a heavy focus on the social and behavioral sciences. SAGE provides funding to organizations seeking solutions to societal issues.

Community Life
SAGE dedicates substantial resources to enriching arts and cultural organizations in an effort to provide accessibility to all members of the community.
