This book provides useful information for prospective applicant's to nurse education. It will assist them in their decision making regarding which field of nursing would be the best for them. This would be a useful addition to further education/six form college libraries. It could be recommended during university open days.

A generally informative text but of little relevance to my current role. No strong focus on mental health nursing and also rather anglo-centric, different criteria apply in other UK nations.

A valuable resource to help potential candidates understand the recruitment and selection process and help them achieve their best potential. The practice numeracy and literacy tests are excellent to help a candidate understand what is expected of them. The chapters that focus on the role of the nurse are invaluable in helping a person decide if in fact this is the right choice for them. At open days potential applicants often ask me what should they be doing to help strengthen their application . Up to now I have provided general information - this book fills a gap in the market and will be recomending they read this . An excellent resource for the pre selection stage on so many levels

A useful text recommended to candidates applying to midwifery and to consider during the period between acceptance on the course and commencement of the same. A well written easy to use resource that encourages development of those essential skills required in nursing and midwifery. It is a shame that the title is limited to nursing. A sister text dedicated to midwifery would be fantastic.
