How do nonprofit organizations submit a proposal for a donation from SAGE?A proposal from qualified nonprofit organizations must be submitted by completing the online application. Which types of nonprofit organizations are eligible for a donation from SAGE?A complete list of eligibility requirements can be found on the SAGE Charitable Giving Guidelines. Does SAGE provide funding to international organizations?SAGE does provide some funding to international organizations, but we do not accept unsolicited proposals of these types. SAGE initiates any funding it provides to organizations located outside of the United States. What are the funding areas for SAGE’s charitable giving program?SAGE provides donations in three primary areas: (1) education, including both higher education and K–12 education; (2) social/human services; and (3) to support resources that create sound communities where SAGE employees live and work. Can I apply for a donation for a fundraising event?Yes, you are welcome to apply for a donation/sponsorship for a fundraising event. Rather than fill out the application, SAGE recommends you send email a listing of sponsorship opportunities to charitablegiving@sagepub.com or fax to (805) 410-7009. What are your deadlines for receipt of proposals?We accept proposals throughout the year. For organizations serving Santa Barbara and/or Ventura Counties, we recommend you submit your proposal to the Local Grants Committee at least one month in advance of January, April, July or October. For all other organizations, requests are reviewed on an ongoing basis. How often can an organization apply for a donation from SAGE?Organizations who have met the criteria set forth in the SAGE Charitable Giving Guidelines may submit one funding request every 12 months. Can my organization apply for funding for more than one project at a time?No, SAGE will only review one request per organization every 12 months. Does SAGE accept unsolicited requests for funding?Yes. SAGE accepts both solicited and unsolicited donation requests. What is the average size and duration of your donations?Amounts awarded and time periods of grants vary widely and depend upon the scope of the project. Can you share a copy of a successful proposal?No. SAGE does not share proposals from individual organizations. Does SAGE fund requests from organizations across the United States? |

Can an organization submit a paper proposal for its grant request?No, SAGE will only accept requests for funding through our online grant application. Click here to access the application. Who can I contact if I need technical assistance while applying for a donation from SAGE?For technical assistance while completing the online application, click on the “Need Support?” link at the bottom of every page of the grant application. For other questions, please email charitablegiving@sagepub.com or call 805-410-7326. Can I print my grant application for my records?Yes. To print your grant application for your records, click on the printer symbol on the online grant application form. For additional instructions, click on the “Need Support?” link at the bottom of every page of the grant application. Do I have to enter the complete donation request at once, or can I submit my request in stages over a span of time of my choosing?You are free to complete the application process in stages. Always remember to save the application before logging off. Once you are done, press the Submit button. Note that you will not be able to make any changes to the donation request after it has been submitted. My organization does not have a scanner. How can I submit our Form 990 and Audited Financial Statements?You can download your Form 990 at www.guidestar.com, save it on your desktop and add it to your grant application. Audited Financial Statements should be scanned at your local library. How will I be notified once SAGE makes a funding decision?Once a final decision has been made regarding donation requests, applicants will be notified in writing. |
