Urban Affairs Review (UAR) has been a leading scholarly journal focused on urban politics, policy, and governance for fifty years. Submissions reflecting different scholarly disciplines and methodological perspectives are welcome when the research advances theory and improves our understanding of political processes, policy impacts, and approaches to governance in urban, regional, and metropolitan settings. The Urban Affairs Review is affiliated with American Political Science Association’s section on Urban Politics.
UAR publishes conceptual and empirical research on issues of politics, policy, and governance in urban, regional, and metropolitan settings throughout the world. Potential topics include: civic and political engagement; racial and ethnic politics; efficiency and equity issues in the provision, production, and funding of public services and social policy; creation, adaptation, and performance of local and regional institutions of governance; community and economic development; economic, civic, and environmental sustainability; and many other key urban policy issues involving education, housing, transportation, and public safety.
