Manuscript Submission Guidelines:

Article Manuscripts of no longer than 8,000 words, including endnotes and references, are accepted by STHV. Manuscripts must follow the Chicago style and should include an Abstract as well as up to five keywords. Author names and addresses should only appear on a removable cover page to facilitate double-blind review. If the manuscript includes complex figures or tables, please be prepared to send an additional print copy. Please submit manuscripts electronically at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/sthv as an MS Word file. Send all other correspondence to STHV@scu.edu.

Authors who want to refine the use of English in their manuscripts might consider utilizing the services of SPi, a non-affiliated company that offers Professional Editing Services to authors of journal articles in the areas of science, technology, medicine or the social sciences. SPi specializes in editing and correcting English-language manuscripts written by authors with a primary language other than English. Visit http://www.prof-editing.com for more information about SPi’s Professional Editing Services, pricing, and turn-around times, or to obtain a free quote or submit a manuscript for language polishing. Please be aware that SAGE has no affiliation with SPi and makes no endorsement of the company. An author’s use of SPi’s services in no way guarantees that his or her submission will ultimately be accepted. Any arrangement an author enters into will be exclusively between the author and SPi, and any costs incurred are the sole responsibility of the author.

Manuscript Review Process:

Due to the high volume of submissions made to the STHV each day, the Editors read the papers carefully to determine their appropriateness for the journal. This process may take up to one month. Submissions that are deemed appropriate to STHV are then sent into a double-blind review process – a process that may take up to 6 months. Authors who wish to submit a manuscript for consideration should be advised that a new submission, even if accepted, very likely will be printed no earlier than the year 2011 (Vol. 36)
