Manuscripts should be submitted in quadruplicate—one file copy for our records (one-sided, double-spaced) and three copies (double-sided, double-spaced) to be sent out for review—accompanied by a copy on CD. Manuscripts to be considered for the general issues should be sent to:

Manuscripts to be considered for the special issues should be sent to the guest editor for the issue at his or her address.
Each manuscript should be accompanied by a cover sheet giving title, author(s), affiliation(s), acknowledgments, along with the full mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and the e-mail address for the corresponding author. All manuscripts should conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fifth Edition). Manuscripts should not exceed 30 typewritten double-spaced pages (including footnotes, references, tables, and figures).Authors should include an abstract of approximately 150 words. Manuscripts cannot be returned to authors. Submission of a manuscript implies commitment to publish in the journal. Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal should not simultaneously submit them to another journal, nor should manuscripts have been published elsewhere in substantially similar form or with substantially similar content. Authors in doubt about what constitutes prior publication should consult the editor. Journal of Family Issues does not publish book reviews.
