Manuscripts are peer-reviewed by Editorial Board members using a blind review system. Editors strive to notify authors about the disposition of their manuscripts in 12 weeks.
Publication PoliciesSubmission implies that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. An agreement transferring copyright from the authors (or their employers, if they hold the copyright) to SAGE will be required before the manuscript can be accepted for publication. The Editor will supply the necessary forms for this transfer, and the corresponding author is responsible for obtaining signatures from all coauthors. Such a written transfer of copyright, previously assumed to be implicit in the submission of a manuscript, is necessary under U.S. copyright law to enable the publisher to ensure maximum dissemination of the author’s work.
Manuscript StyleType double-spaced on one side of 8 ½ × 11-inch white paper using at least 1-inch margins on all sides. Manuscripts should not exceed 30 pages including title, abstract, main text, reference, tables, and figures. If the number of pages cannot be cut down, please contact the editor for approval prior to submission online.
Cover PageA cover page is to be provided and should include
the title of the article
author and coauthor names
and author and coauthor affiliations
The cover page should also include the following information for the corresponding author:
the complete mailing address
telephone numbers (office, home, and cell or vacation number if applicable)
fax number
and e-mail address.
An email address for every author must also be provided.
Title Page
The first page of the manuscript is the title page and should include the title of the manuscript and the date it was submitted. Please do not include author/coauthor information on this page.
AbstractAn abstract is to be provided and should be no longer than 150 words.
KeywordsA list of 4-5 keywords is to be provided directly below the abstract. Keywords should express the precise content of the manuscript, as they enable readers and researchers to locate articles online as well as identify the content of the article.
ReferencesList references alphabetically at the end of the paper and refer to them in the text by name and year in parentheses. Please be sure that references and citations in the text conform strictly to APA style. Only items cited in manuscripts should be listed as references, and all text citations should be listed in the Reference section.
EndnotesEndnotes should be avoided. When their use is absolutely necessary, endnotes should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals and should be gathered together and placed on a new page after the end of the text. Use the appropriate superscript numeral for citation in the text.
Figures and TablesFigures (photographs, drawings, diagrams, and charts) must be cited in the text and numbered in one consecutive series of Arabic numerals. The captions for figures should be typed on a separate sheet of paper.
Electronic figures should be submitted in one of the following formats: TIFF, EPS, PDF, JPEG, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, or Quark Xpress (1200 dpi for line art and 300 dpi for gray-scale art). To ensure text remains as intended, please make sure fonts are embedded.
Although electronic figure submission is preferred, authors may send camera-ready copy if necessary. Photographs should be glossy or halftone prints with sharp contrast. All figures should be no smaller than the size at while they’ll be printed.
Tables should be numbered (with Arabic numerals) and referred to by number in the text. Each table should be typed on a separate sheet of paper. Tables should be formatted according to APA style.
