Transformation is a peer-reviewed journal published quarterly by SAGE Publications on behalf of the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. Original papers in the following fields are welcome: Mission, Religion and Culture, Theology (particularly Majority World Theologies), Faith Based Development
Studies and Biblical and Interfaith Studies.
All papers must be original and not have been published elsewhere. Papers must be submitted with a 100-word précis in Microsoft Word format, and should be carefully edited. Only those articles that
are in the estimation of the reviewers original, scholarly and as accurate as possible will be accepted.
Once a revision has been made by an author and accepted by the reviewer, the author may be asked to re-read the paper as carefully as possible to ensure that sources are both quoted properly and
cited according to Transformation’s default style (special issues of Transformation may follow a different style).
Only genuine endnotes should be given. All references, whether included in the endnotes or in the Bibliography, must include complete bibliographical details including the name(s) of the author(s),
complete title of the book, city of publication, publisher and year. Where appropriate give the volume and page numbers. All translated books must include the name of the translator and edited volumes should include the name(s) of the editor(s). Journal references must include non-abbreviated journal titles along with volume, issue and page numbers (where appropriate the month/s). The spelling of names quoted in the paper and names of authors must be accurate.
Book reviews are welcome. The books reviewed should be no more than two years old from the time of publication. Normally, the review should begin by summarising the book, and should include
information such as its context, content and message. The review should then discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the arguments and data presented, as well as their implications. Finally, the review
should evaluate the book according to the criteria of originality, insightfulness, clarity, application and its significance its field.
There is no payment for papers published in Transformation. The corresponding (or first named) author will receive proofs of their article and be asked to send corrections within two weeks. On publication, the corresponding author will be given controlled access to a pdf of their article and a complimentary copy of the journal. Before publication, authors are requested to assign copyright to OCMS, subject to retaining their right to reuse the material in other publications written or
edited by themselves and due to be published preferably at least one year after initial publication in the journal.
Authors should raise any questions direct with the Editor by phonecall, letter or email.
