The British Society of Criminology (BSC) is Britain's foremost criminological society and will assume editorial control of the journal. All administrative, marketing and subscription matters will be handled by SAGE. SAGE launched the journal in 2000 and this collaboration marks an important stage in its development. We are delighted to be entering into partnership with such a prestigious organization as the BSC.
The aims and scope of Criminology & Criminal Justice are being developed and will be posted soon on the journal's homepage at http://crj.sagepub.com. The journal welcomes the submission of scholarly papers relating to criminology and criminal justice, and continues in its aim to disseminate ideas, practice, knowledge and research to the international academic community.
| CORPORATE NEWS |
SAGE Becomes Corporate Affiliate of the Federation of Behavioral, Psychological, and Cognitive Sciences
SAGE recently became the first corporate affiliate of the Federation of Behavioral, Psychological, and Cognitive Sciences. The Federation is a dues-supported coalition of member organizations, university departments of psychology, schools of education, research centers, regional psychological associations, and science divisions of the American Psychological Association (APA). The Federation represents the interests of scientists who do research in the areas of behavioral, psychological, and cognitive sciences. Their efforts focus on legislative advocacy and education and the communication of information to scientists.
SAGE chose to support the Federation because as a scholarly publisher we hold similar values to those of the Federation. In particular SAGE wants to assist in countering recent changes in government funding of research which have resulted in measures to limit support for investigation in the behavioral, psychological, and cognitive sciences. Furthermore, we expect that through participation in the Federation's activities we will have another point of contact with our authors and readers and another opportunity to understand their interests, needs, and perspectives.
SAGE Establishes Center for the Study of the Mind at UC Santa Barbara
SAGE recently contributed $3.5 million to the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) to launch a dynamic new interdisciplinary research center for the study of the mind. This gift is one more way we are commemorating our 40th anniversary.
The SAGE Center for the Study of the Mind will bring together UCSB scholars from a broad range of academic disciplines in the arts and humanities, social sciences, the sciences, and engineering to explore the multidimensional nature of the human mind. Directing the pioneering new effort will be Michael Gazzaniga, widely regarded as the founder of the cognitive neuroscience field. SAGE's gift will also establish a distinguished visiting scholar program that will bring leading researchers to UCSB to study the brain and to participate in seminars and conferences.

Encyclopedia of Disability Now Available from SAGE Reference
SAGE
Reference is proud to announce the five-volume Encyclopedia
of Disability, edited by Gary L. Albrecht of the University of Illinois
at Chicago. This Encyclopedia represents the first attempt to bring an authoritative
reference resource to the many faces of disability. It provides a fascinating
entry into the world of disability where minds are expanded, prejudices shattered,
and spirits raised. The experience of exploring the Encyclopedia answers the
question: What is disability and why is it important in my life? An international
editorial board of seventy-four editors from the Americas, Europe, Australia,
India, Japan, and China, all experts in their own sub-fields of disability,
developed these volumes. The result is a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural,
and historically grounded resource tool that guides the reader across fields,
theories, debates, and practices.
