SAGE and AERA Announce Journals Publishing Partnership
SAGE Publications and the American Educational Research Association (AERA) are pleased to announce their new publishing partnership. On behalf of the AERA, SAGE will begin publishing the following six journals effective January 2007:
• American Educational Research Journal
• Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis
• Educational Researcher
• Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics
• Review of Educational Research
• Review of Research in Education
The AERA, founded in 1916, seeks to advance education research and to promote the use of high-quality research in educational policy and practice. The AERA is the national professional organization for approximately 25,000 members located in colleges and universities; research institutions; and government, non-profit, and private sector organizations in the United States and throughout the world. The Association’s highly regarded journals significantly enhance SAGE’s already renowned list of education and research methods journals. Four of the six AERA titles are currently ranked in the Thomson Scientific (formerly ISI) Journal Citation Reports®, with a fifth journal recently accepted for inclusion.
SAGE is pleased to make the journals available electronically via SAGE Journals Online (SJO). Each journal website on SJO will go live upon release of the journal’s first 2007 issue (Educational Researcher in January, all others in March). All six titles will be made available through SAGE’s award winning full-text database, Education: A SAGE Full-Text Collection.
Please see the New to SAGE in 2007 section below for more details, including the first SAGE issue of each title. |

"SAGE Spotlight"
We Share Your Passion – Meet Alison Roth, Library/Sales Consortia Manager
We are pleased to introduce Alison Roth, a recent addition to our U.S. Sales team. Alison brings to SAGE a wealth of experience from her background working both in the serials industry and as a professional librarian.
Alison joined SAGE as the Senior Regional Sales Manager for Library/Consortia Sales for the Northeast Territory in August, 2007. Her responsibilities include selling SAGE’s journal products such as SAGE Premier, SAGE Full-Text Collections, and Backfile to libraries and consortia, working closely with librarians and keeping them informed of SAGE’s digitization efforts.
Prior to joining SAGE, Alison worked as a sales manger for two subscription agents, Swets Information Services—where she was a top academic sales person three years in a row—and The Faxon Company. Alison has a history of involvement since 1995 with the North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG), has served on a number of NASIG committees, and is currently serving on the Board as a Member at Large through 2008.
“I attribute my success in sales to my background in customer service, both as a librarian and at The Faxon Company,” says Alison. “Service is one of the main goals of librarians. When I visit a library, our conversation focuses on the question: “What are your needs for content and how can we best fulfill them for you?”
Alison is also a member of the American Library Association and its ACRL and ALCTS divisions. She has written articles for Serials Review, Library Technical Services, and the Charleston Conference Proceedings and has participated as a speaker and panelist at NASIG, Charleston, and local workshops.
“I’m grateful to SAGE for its interest in having me continue my work for NASIG as we plan for our annual conference in Louisville, KY early next June. One of the reasons NASIG was founded was to encourage conversation among all those in the scholarly information chain—libraries, vendors, and publishers. And I’m glad to continue to be part of this communication, now from the point of view of a publisher.” |
