SAGE Launches Therapeutic Advances in Medical OncologyLos Angeles, London, New Delhi, Singapore and Washington DC (September 18, 2009) – SAGE has launched Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology, a new journal publishing the latest research and reviews on systemic cancer treatments including chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, biological therapy and immunotherapy. Publishing bi-monthly, Therapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology is the sixth title in SAGE’s Therapeutic Advances (TA) series, following successful launches in cardiology, respiratory disease, neurology, gastroenterology and urology. All the titles, including this one, will be freely available on the award-winning SAGE Journals Online platform for the first three years of publication. “With over 200 different types of cancers, and an increasing incidence that coincides with an aging population, oncology is one of the most active new drug areas in therapeutics,” said Charles Coombes, Editor-in-Chief of the new journal. “There are many oncology journals; however, clinicians need to have as many avenues as possible to publish and access the material. They also need to be able to access concise summaries of the many hundreds of publications relating to these new drugs to enable them to be as well-informed. I am excited to lead the launch of this new journal.” “The success of the TA series lies in their ability to deliver high quality peer-reviewed papers with rapid publication - accepted articles will be published online within 7 weeks of publication,” said Tessa Picknett, Publisher, STM journals. “We’re delighted to be working with an extremely well regarded team of editors and an international editorial board.” The journal is seeking submissions for reviews, perspectives and original research articles.
