SAGE recreates management structure with global vision

Los Angeles, CA (May 24, 2010) - SAGE has announced a reorganization of its senior management team, creating a global structure for its publishing programs.

Ziyad Marar, Deputy Managing Director and Executive Vice President located in London will now assume responsibility for SAGE's global publishing program, incorporating all editorial, production and marketing operations for SAGE US and SAGE UK.

SAGE is headquartered in Thousand Oaks, California. Blaise Simqu, President and C.E.O. of the SAGE group of companies, said: "Our business has become increasingly more complex and global in nature, and our products are no longer clearly delineated on a geographical basis. It makes strategic and organizational sense to create a more global publishing organization to allow us to respond more effectively to the market and the demands of the ever changing landscape of the publishing industry."

Marar has over twenty years of experience at SAGE in London, first in marketing, then later as Editorial Director and Publishing Director. During his career he has built international publishing programs in psychology and politics, across reference and textbooks, developed innovative launch journals as well as negotiated the publication of major society journals by SAGE.

As part of the reorganization, Stephen Barr, President of SAGE International and Managing Director of SAGE London, to which SAGE's India and Asia Pacific companies report, has also assumed global responsibility for SAGE's sales operations. Additionally, Clive Parry has been appointed Vice President and Global Marketing Director, reporting to Ziyad Marar.
