SAGE to publish Journal of Laboratory Automation (JALA)Endeavor expands partnership with Society for Laboratory Automation and ScreeningLos Angeles, CA (August 31, 2011) – SAGE will continue its partnership with the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) by publishing the Journal of Laboratory Automation (JALA) beginning in 2012. With the addition of this title, SAGE now publishes both SLAS journals: Journal of Biomolecular Screening (JBS) and JALA, which was previously published by Elsevier. Journal of Laboratory Automation (formerly known as the Journal of the Association for Laboratory Automation) is a collection of articles on the advancement of laboratory technology. Contributions are multidisciplinary and are geared to a varied audience of commercial, government and academic researchers searching for the latest innovations and applications of laboratory technologies to help make them more efficient. JALA will receive its first Impact Factor in the 2011 edition of the Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports®, due out in June of 2012, and is also in MEDLINE. “SLAS was looking to consolidate the publishing of our journals and found SAGE to be the right choice for us,” said SLAS President Michelle Palmer, Ph.D. “SAGE has published JBS very successfully for nine years and we feel confident that our continued partnership will bring quality information, reviews and commentary to the field of laboratory science and technology.” SLAS is an international community of more than 10,000 individual scientists, engineers, researchers, technologists and others from academic, government and commercial laboratories. SLAS provides forums for education and information exchange to encourage study and advance laboratory science and technology for the drug discovery, agrochemical, biotechnology, chemical, clinical diagnostic, consumer product, energy, food, forensic, pharmaceutical, security and other industries. Joining the SAGE journal family means that JALA will be available through SAGE Journals Online, SAGE’s award-winning online journal delivery platform, in February 2012. “We look forward to continuing to publish top-level research from SLAS’ team” said Jayne Marks, SAGE Vice President and Editorial Director. “JBS and JALA are excellent journals, and the confidence that SLAS has shown in us to expand our relationship only goes to show the increasing strength of our STM team.” |
