SAGE Reference releases second installment of Green Society: Toward a Sustainable Future

Los Angeles, CA (June 21, 2011) –Last year, SAGE Reference launched the innovative, multivolume series exploring different aspects of environmentalism, Green Society: Toward a Sustainable Future. Today SAGE Reference pleased to present the second installment of the series, six new titles, all of which are now available in print as well as on the SAGE Reference Online platform.

Each authoritative title in this unique series explores a single facet of environmentalism and contains some 150 highly accessible, expertly written, A-to-Z entries, in addition to searchable cross–references, vivid photos, extensive resource guides, and more. The Green Society series, which is edited by the award–winning Paul Robbins, is perfect for both classroom use and research.

Adding to the original six earth-focused titles (covering business, cities, consumerism, energy, food, and politics), the six new titles are:

  • Green Culture: An A-to-Z Guide – details the on-going paradigm shift in culture and lifestyles toward promoting a sustainable environment.
  • Green Education: An A-to-Z Guide – explores the environmental movement at all levels in the field of education, as well as building sustainable campuses.
  • Green Ethics and Philosophy: An A-to-Z Guide – covers the moral relationship between humans and their natural environment.
  • Green Health: An A-to-Z Guide – examines how personal health and the healthcare industry affect resource conservation, pollution, and the environment.
  • Green Issues and Debates – lays out the multitude of threats to sustainable life on earth and the many controversies surrounding potential solutions.
  • Green Technology: An A-to-Z Guide – looks at the changing developments in technology as it relates to the environment, as well as the creation of new, clean technology that utilizes renewable resources.

All public and academic libraries will want to purchase the entire print and online SAGE Reference Series on Green Society: Toward a Sustainable Future, so students, scholars, and general readers can access this timely and in-depth exploration of the greening of our world.

Series Editor Paul Robbins is a professor at the University of Arizona. Each title has a separate general editor with expertise in that volume’s field.
