SAGE begins publishing journals
from Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication

Los Angeles, CA (May 4, 2011) – SAGE is delighted to have been chosen by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) to publish its three journals beginning in January 2012:

  • Journalism & Mass Communication Educator (JMCE)
  • Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly (JMCQ)
  • Journalism & Communication Monographs (JCMO)

The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) is a nonprofit organization of more than 3,700 educators, students and practitioners from around the globe. Members of the Association receive the three quarterly journals as a benefit of their membership.

“AEJMC is excited to be working with SAGE to publish our journals. As we considered our options, we found SAGE's ideas to promote our research and expand its reach, especially internationally, to be the best fit for us,” said Jennifer McGill, AEJMC Executive Director. “As AEJMC celebrates its 100th year in 2012, we will also mark our first year with SAGE as our publisher. As we look back and move forward, it will be a benchmark year for the association."

The AEJMC journals support the association’s mission to help empower journalism and mass communication educators to encourage widespread research, high standards and ethics for reporting, encourage a multi-cultural society and works reflective of that, as well as to maintain the freedom of communication. Joining the SAGE journal family means that the journal will be available through SAGE Journals Online and authors will be able to submit articles for review through SAGE Track.

“It is very exciting for SAGE to have been selected by AEJMC as their new partner.” said Jayne Marks, SAGE Vice President and Editorial Director, Library Information Group. “These journals are integral to AEJMC members and the field of journalism and mass communication education and will fit very well alongside SAGE’s existing strong communication list. Journalism today is changing rapidly and the highest standards are even more important in a world awash with information on the web. It will be a privilege to work with our new partner to help further their mission.”
