SAGE begins publishing
Teaching Public Administration

Los Angeles, CA (October 31, 2011)–SAGE will begin publishing Teaching Public Administration (TPA) on behalf of the Joint University Council Public Administration Committee from 2012. The new title will be published alongside its sister journal of Public Policy and Administration (PPA) which is also published by SAGE.

The journal, which publishes two times per year in March and September, is peer-reviewed and focuses on teaching and learning in public sector management and organisations. Teaching Public Administration is committed to publishing papers which promote critical thinking about the practice and process of teaching and learning as well as those which examine more theoretical and conceptual models of teaching and learning. It offers an international forum for the debate of a wide range of issues relating to how skills and knowledge are transmitted and acquired within public sector/not for profit organisations.

“We are so pleased to bring Teaching Public Administration to a wide audience in its new form” said Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE. “The launch of Teaching Public Administration by SAGE signals a new chapter for the journal and a chance to once again discuss, debate and disseminate all the relevant aspects of education and training in public administration. TPA’s sister journal PPA has grown and matured with SAGE and we are excited to follow the same path with TPA.”

“This SAGE re-launch of Teaching Public Administration at an important point in the development of the discipline of Public Administration and Management.” said Professor Joyce Liddle Chair of Public Administration Committee (PAC), on behalf of the PAC Executive Committee. “PAC‘s already well-established and fruitful relationships with SAGE resulting from the very successful launch of PPA, gives the PAC Executive much confidence that the TPA re-launch will be equally successful, and enhance the mutually beneficial linkages. The disciplines of Public Administration and Managements can only benefit from a continued and on-going relationship between PAC and SAGE in the future.
