SAGE to begin publishing Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy
Los Angeles, CA (August 3, 2012) – SAGE is excited to have been chosen by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) to publish its journal, Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy, beginning in February 2013.
Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy (CJOT) began publication in 1933 and fostered advancement and growth of research, theory and practice in occupational therapy. Principle content of CJOT includes full-length empirical papers across the full range of methodologies as well as theoretical papers, methodological or conceptual reviews, and clinical or program descriptions and clinical case examples that have the potential to inform future research.
“The enhanced publication services SAGE has to offer, including Scholar One, their HighWire platform, and their dedicated sales and production teams, will help advance CJOT to new levels and give CAOT and CJOT increased international visibility” stated Sue Baptiste, CAOT President
CJOT will continue to support the CAOT mission under the direction of the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Helene J. Polatajko, and Associate Editors, Jane Davis, Catherine Backman, and Catherine Vallée.
CJOT is just one outlet that helps the CAOT in its mission to advance excellence in occupational therapy. The journal aims to advance excellence in occupational therapy research that informs education, practice and policy with a vision to influence occupational therapy globally. Joining the SAGE journal family means that the journal will be available through the SAGE Journals platform and authors will be able to submit articles for review through SAGE Track.
“We look forward to helping the CAOT journal grow internationally with our partnership,” said Bob Howard, Executive Director of Journals at SAGE. “Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy is a great addition to our growing selection of STM journals. We’re excited to reach a new audience in Canada with this title.”
Founded in 1926, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists provides services, products, events and networking opportunities to assist occupational therapists in achieving excellence in their professional practice. In addition CAOT provides national leadership to actively develop and promote the client-centred profession of occupational therapy in Canada and internationally. http://www.caot.ca
