Discover house and home in SAGE References The Encyclopedia of Housing, 2nd EditionLos Angeles (June 5, 2012) The current global economic meltdown was spurred in large part by the worst subprime mortgage crisis in history. This housing downturn rivals even that of the Great Depression. Exploring this crisis, along with many other gradual changes and dramatic upheavals in the housing industry, is the significantly updated and expanded second edition of The Encyclopedia of Housing. Now in two volumes, packed with updated and expanded information, cross references, and further readings, researchers will find in-depth articles detailing new developments in the field as well as the continued growth of housing research across a variety of disciplines. Written by academics in such diverse fields as anthropology and urban planning, the A-to-Z entries are helpfully organized in a Reader’s Guide within the following key topics:
The most important message of The Encyclopedia of Housing, 2nd Edition is that “housing matters,” whether the market is robust or floundering. That message makes this resource the cornerstone of all research in the housing discipline and an essential addition to all academic and public libraries’ reference shelves.
