REVIEW COPIES REQUESTED IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2008

Our policy is to ensure that review copies are sent out at times when instructors are making text selections for next semester. We find that review copies sent on campus at other times of year get lost. We will therefore hold review copy requests received after November 1st until January 5th, when they will be shipped. Please be advised that any online order for review copies will be held until this date. This does not apply to desk copy requests. If you need your review copy or desk copy now, please call Customer Care at 1-800-818-7243.

Instructor Review and Desk Copies

SAGE Publications is happy to provide review copies of our textbooks and supplements for instructors who wish to consider them for classroom adoption. SAGE now makes most of our textbooks and supplements available for inspection on a complimentary basis. In years past, a larger number of our titles were only available through a 60-day examination period; however, we've now relaxed our inspection copy policies significantly to make more SAGE titles available on a complimentary basis than ever before. A small percentage of our books must still remain in the 60-day inspection program in order to allow SAGE to continue profitably publishing in some more specialized markets overlooked by many of our competitors. If you have already decided to adopt a SAGE title for classroom use, and you need an additional desk copy, you can use our online request form to order these additional copies.

General Adoption Review Policies and Information

By completing and returning the adoption review request form, you indicate that you understand which titles are available on a complimentary basis and which titles are available on a 60-Day Exam basis, and that you have read and agreed to the adoption review policies. SAGE Publications reserves the right to review and approve all requests.

Complimentary Review Copies
Should you adopt a SAGE Publications/Pine Forge Press complimentary review title for your course, may we ask you to please call SAGE Publications Customer Care at 1-800-818-7243? We will update your customer record to indicate that you have adopted the text and note that the book is a complimentary desk copy for you to keep and use in teaching your course.
  • A minimum annual course enrollment of 15 students is required to receive complimentary review copies.
  • Please limit your complimentary copy requests to two titles per course, and a maximum of 10 complimentary review copies per calendar year per faculty member, so that we can continue to publish high quality texts at affordable prices.
60-Day Examination Copies
Should you adopt a SAGE Publications/Pine Forge Press title in our 60-day examination program for your course, please call SAGE Publications Customer Care at 1-800-818-7243 (or email textbooks@sagepub.com) within 60 days and provide us with: the invoice number of your order, the name of the faculty member teaching the course, the name of the institution, course name, enrollment, and name of bookstore through which the adoption order is placed. After notification of adoption to SAGE Publications, we will update your customer record to reflect that the 60-day examination title has been adopted; the text is then yours to keep and use in teaching your course as a complimentary desk copy. If for some reason you decide not to adopt the text, please choose one of the following options: return the book to SAGE Publications in saleable condition (postage is the responsibility of the customer) along with a copy of your original order confirmation notice; or pay the amount indicated on the order confirmation notice that you received along with the book. If after the 60-day examination period you have not contacted SAGE Publications and notified us of your adoption, or returned or paid for the book, SAGE Publications will send you a reminder invoice statement that your account has an outstanding balance.
