Students will be recommended to purchase this text as there is a high level of information relevant to a specific units within our course. The book is structured well meaning it is easy to find any required information. There is a lot of valuable information to allow students to link theory from the book to their work placement settings.
I liked the way the text approached issues through anti-oppessive practice rather than equalities. A useful guide to moral, legal and historical contexts and an interesting and easy to read starting point for discussing ethics in care provision.
A very popular gem of a book which tackles the under written about subject of oppression.
Very up to date and informative text which I will be using with the module
This text lives up to its advertised qualities - it is indeed a positive approach to this subject. I welcome this an alternative text for students who need to gain an understanding of anti-oppressive practice early on in their professional training.
This text married up the different strands of anti-oppressive practice. It is very easy and interesting to read. In pariticular it had an interesting and accessible history to oppression. I liked the combination of moral, legal and politcal in addressing anti-oppressive practice. I found this text particularly useful for our Introduction to social sciences module and in developing ideas in ethical practice. It was a good supplementary text for those students who are at this level.
