is the Head of the Centre for WTO Studies, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. He is one of the leading policy analysts in the field of international trade in India. He has been the director of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) India Programme, a joint initiative of the Department of Commerce (Government of India) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. He has participated in many multilateral and bilateral trade negotiations, including the Doha Round of trade negotiations at the WTO. He frequently comments on trade issues in the media and has jointly edited two books on the economic and legal aspects of the international trade regime.
