Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz Vice Chancellor at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad

M. Aslam Parvaiz, who holds a PhD in plant physiology, is currently the Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University at Hyderabad, India. Earlier he was the Principal of Zakir Husain Delhi College (University of Delhi). He is a science communicator, founder and editor of Urdu Science, India’s first and only popular science and environment monthly magazine published in Urdu since February 1994. He heads the Islamic Foundation for Science and Environment, a voluntary, non-profit, charitable organization.

He works on interface of Islam and science/environment. He interprets Quran from a scientific perspective and promotes holistic education. His contributed chapters are included in books/ encyclopaedias published by reputed publishers. He has delivered invited lectures at Harvard, Yale, Toronto and many other institutions and organizations across the world.
