Nirmali Goswami Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Tezpur University, Assam

Nirmali Goswami is Assistant Professor of sociology in Tezpur University. Born to Assamese parents and brought up in North India, she switches between Hindi, English and Assamese languages. She studied in Banaras Hindu University and the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Legitimising the Standard Languages is her first book. She has published on issues of gendered nature of school choice in India. Her current research interests include feminist reading of identity politics in Assam.
