Padmini Iyer University of Oxford, UK

Padmini Iyer has a background in international education and development and sociology of education. Her doctoral research, funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council, explored young people’s experiences of learning about gender and sexuality in secondary schools in New Delhi, India. Previous research includes a study on teachers’ attitudes toward young people’s sexual and reproductive health in Uganda. She is currently an education research officer with Young Lives, an international study of childhood poverty based at the Oxford Department of International Development. Her current work involves leading a secondary school effectiveness survey in Vietnam as part of the Young Lives Education Team.
