Samantha J. Andrews Keele University, UK

Samantha J. Andrews graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class BA (Hons) in Politics, Psychology, and Sociology (2014), and an MA and PhD in Psychology (2017). Her PhD research, supervised by Prof. Michael E. Lamb, was funded by an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) studentship, and was the first series of studies to systematically examine how children are direct- and cross-examined in the UK. Dr. Andrews took up her current position as Lecturer (Assistant Professor equivalent) in Developmental Psychology at Keele University in July 2017. Her research interests centre on the application of developmental, cognitive, and social psychology to inform and improve practice and public policy. Dr. Andrews has recently been awarded a £300,000 ESRC New Investigator Grant to investigate the use and effectiveness of special measures used with vulnerable witnesses.
