This book gives higher level students some new approaches to supporting early childhood. Good links to theory and international approaches, as well as supporting the developing practitioner.
A comprehensive and accessible text that makes an excellent guide for students studying Early Childhood. A key feature is the Reflective Activities and Case Studies included which offer opportunities to support learning and understanding.
This text gives a modern view of childhood including highlighting the issues parents and children may have and considerations practitioners will need to undertake in their everyday work. It is particularly good to note how practice and policy from other countries has been discussed, enabling students to make comparisons with their own practice and experience.
A useful introductory text
Valuable core text for the FdA, part of indicative reading for Growth and Development module, The Curriculum module and Sociological Perspectives in childhood.
A good, all round book, useful for our BEd students in their second year stage of the course.
I used this book to help me with the structure of the course and my preparation as a tutor
I signposted some students to this to enable further reading around a topic
I really enjoyed reading this book and found it useful and informative. It is well laid out and easy to read. I particularly enjoyed the Reflective Activity sections in the chapters, allowing me the opportunity to reflect as well as the students.
Well done, this book has been a good source of detail to support students in their independent studies and several units on both the BA and FdA in Early Years. This is placed on the reading list to supplement and widen students knowledge.
This is a clearly written book which gives clear and helpful information for learners to understand.
Excellent resource!
