I have searched a very long time to find a textbook that would support preservice teachers' understandings of classroom management as the development of a democratic community, and this textbook is that and much more! The online video clips are an excellent resource, and my students' feedback has been so positive regarding the "reader-friendly" text. The topics are organized in a manner that fit well together, too. I use this book as a primary text in the general elementary methods course that I teach, and it is a resource/recommended text in ALL of the methods courses and student teaching. It is a high-quality, well-written guide for all teachers!
