Transactional Analysis Counselling
Bringing their book into the twenty-first century, the authors provide a brief history of TA followed by individual chapters on the concepts and techniques used. Each chapter is devoted to one concept and includes a detailed definition and description, and suggestions for application in practice. Exercises for student, practitioner and client, boxed summaries, diagrams, checklists and sources of further reading make this the ideal text for use in training.
What I liked most about this book is its practical nature. Every concept is explained in both a theoretical and real life context. Every chapter challenges the reader not only to understand but also to use the concepts. Highly recommended.
Clear, accessible and comprehensive overview of TA
This book gives a thorough overview of Transactional Analysis. Lapworth and Sills are informative and concise, backing up explanations with examples and extending the reader’s understanding by suggesting various helpful exercises to try out.
An important read for any therapists interested in TA.
This is a good introduction to TA. A useful text for new comers to the theory
not adopted as another book is been currently used for teaching theory
This book is a very useful addition to the growing literature on this topic area
This is an excellent book for students on a counselling skills course. There is a good mix of theory and practice examples for students to apply to their work settings. The book is a good comprehensive resource of TA materials and techniques that students will be able to dip into and integrate to practice, as a theory base and understanding interactions. T A can be applied as an analysis and framework for course work assignments when reflecting on counselling practice in the work setting.
Really helpful book explaining the background to transactional analysis and the application for anyone who works in people development and change or wants to understand how to work more effectiveley with others.
