Catarina Sales University of Beira Interior, Portugal

Catarina Sales is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal and an affiliated researcher at CIES-IUL (Center for Research and Studies in Sociology) She has coordinated the implementation of the UBIgual Gender Equality Plan – UBI, the first Gender Equality Plan (GEP) of a Portuguese university. She is currently the Chair of CI UBI (UBI Equality Commission), the first structure of this kind in Portugal. Her research interests are gender and citizenship; mobilities, transport and inequalities; work and organizations. In all these areas, she has several scientific publications. Currently she is involved in several national and international scientific research in these areas at the same time she develops an action-research approach actively engaging in organizational change and social intervention activities in the local community.
