David Leonard Downie is director of environmental studies and associate professor of politics at Fairfield University. He has written extensively on global environmental politics and international relations, including Northern Lights against POPs: Combating Toxic Threats in the Arctic, coedited with Terry Fenge. He previously taught courses in international environmental politics at Columbia University and served as director of the university’s Earth Institute Fellows Program and as director of environmental policy studies at its School of International and Public Affairs.
