Gary L. Fisher University of Nevada, Reno, USA

Gary L. Fisher received his Ph.D. in Applied Educational Psychology (Neuropsychological Assessment) from the University of Washington.  He is Professor of Health and Human Services at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the former Director of the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies.  He has been a Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, since 1983, and has also worked as a school psychologist in school districts within the state of Washington.  He has published articles, book chapters, and books and given national presentations on learning disabilities and on substance abuse, including (with T.C. Harrison) Substance Abuse: Information for School Counselors, Social Workers, Therapists, and Counselors, Third Edition (Pearson, 2005) and his forthcoming Rethinking Our War on Drugs: Candid Talk about Controversial Issues (Praeger, in press).  He is a Nevada Licensed Psychologist and Drug and Alcohol Counselor and received the 1999 "Author of the Year Award" from the National Board of Addiction Examiners.
