A good consise textbook , advised 2nd year student nurses to read as a introduction to dementia care on the adult nurse programme
This is an excellent book for all levels of study. I have found it invaluable whilst writing the content of the module and will be adding this to the recommended list of reading.
Excellent boook especially for students on undergraduate nursing programme. Highights main areass for care, and helps to demystify some the aspects around dementia
A really easy to navigate text, which students will find easy to use. Up to date concepts noted, and I particularly like the case studies, which can be adapted for classroom group work. Highly recommended!
a must have for the student or even nurses who have had little experience working with people with dementia. easy to read, thought provoking and a useful teaching aid for small groups!
Interesting background reading for any health professional supporting a family where a member has dementia.
Comprehensive coverage of issues related to Dementia.
Good grounding for pre reg nursing students and reference source.
The module I am currently developing will be aimed at post reg students. Despite the book being written for pre-reg students I feel much of the content is relevent to all nurses working with people with dementia, especially those working in an acute care setting. The book is very well written and the structure is easy to follow. The authors offer some good practical advice on caring for people with dementia. The critical thinking activities throughout the book helped me engage in the content meaningfully. Therefore I will be pleased to include this book in the recommended reading list.
Although this book is well written, its focus is not well suited to the education of Occupational Therapists. i have therefore adopted a number of other books instead.
Excellent book offering students practical advice on how to manage dementia in an acute setting.
