Positive Psychology
In this unique text, author Digby Tantam explores the philosophical, political, economical, psychological, medical and spiritual perspectives on well-being through a psychotherapeutic lens, explaining current research data and summarising findings. Theoretical approaches are balanced with an insight into their practical applications, showing therapists how each approach can inform their practice and make a real difference to the life satisfaction and health of their clients.
Very useful and informative book for all training levels.
very comprehensive account, very interesting. However the font size is very small
A very good book for students to read, especially in the subject-matter of cognitive-behavioural therapy
An Excellent text which gives a superb overview of contemporary issues in relation to mental health and wellbeing.
Good beginning text for the higher level student.
Useful for reflective elements of the unit.
This is an insightful and useful merging of emotion and mental health issues, I am recommending it for reading and have had some ordered for our library.
I like this book for its clear relation to the humanisation/ compassion agenda.
Great information regarding emotional well being and mental health for everyone.
This is a very timely book with the introduction of the Care Act 2014 with its overarching aim of well-being. I found the book very interesting for this reason and could relate the different perspectives of well-being to my work as an adult social worker, especially in relation to how well-being relates to choice and control and the strengths approach.
I will definitely be using elements of this book as a reference when teaching about the Care Act 2014 on the MA Social Work course to help the students to understand what the concept of well-being means and how they can relate this to their future social work practice with adults.
I have already suggested this book to other colleagues both at the University and at the local authority where I work.
