Useful background reader for undergraduates

This book underpinned the teaching and learning of our course. As an introduction to global issues and comparative education, it provided relavant and concise areas of study which was very accessible. The critical thinking tasks challenged our student well.

An interesting addition to topics around social justice for undergrad students

This is a nice introductory read into global educational issues. There are some inspiring and though provoking critical thinking tasks ideal for seminar sessions. I personally have used these to engage undergraduate students in higher level thinking and reasoning. They have prompted interesting and conflicting points of view which otherwise might not have been explored.

As interest in and experience of international approaches gains momentum this provides an interesting starting point for students to begin and would inform general discussion about the global nature of education and the impact of culture. Some of the readings are becoming a little dated and it would be useful to update this in light of recent and on-going research
