Safeguarding Children, Young People and Families
- Vida Douglas - University of Hertfordshire, UK
- Julie Fourie
This series of books from Learning Matters is aimed at busy social work and health care practitioners, particularly in the context of integrated health and social care, who are looking to enhance their skills and extend their knowledge. Written from a practical point of view, they have clear links to both qualifying training as well as CPD. They are up-to-date, accessible and totally skills focused.
Children, young people, and their families are clearly at the forefront of this safeguarding book, the authors have been able to capture the essence of safeguarding. I would highly recommend this book for all Social Work practitioners, students or anyone that is interested in safeguarding processes, it is an absolute must!
Such an important topic. This text provides deeper information about key issues.
Adopted for Safeguarding module to support wider exploration
This has been recommended for students on two of the courses I teach on to read. It includes relevant, contemporary case studies (including COVID-19) which my students have found invaluable.
This text is accessible and I like how it includes chapters on the child's voice and resilience which I feel are key components in safeguarding practice.
