Using Counselling Skills in Social Work
- Sally Riggall - University of Lincoln, UK
Good clear book. Useful that it includes the professional capabilities framework for social work.
Excellent mix of exercises, tips for Practice, and underpinning theories. This should prove very popular with students on our Social work degree
This book includes some useful perspectives pertinent to the development of skills for social work practice.
A necessary introduction to the basic skills
An excellent book that looks at the practical counselling skills needed for effective Social Work Practice.
Really useful text with many helpful practical examples using case studies/reflective questions to help demonstrate the skills. This will be extremely useful for my students
I really like this book as will, no doubt, the students.
Comprehensive text for undergraduates on qualifying courses
Much needed text book, students are always wanting to understand how social workers can make good use of counselling skills - some good thinking exercises, excellent chapters on managing conflict, would have liked a little more detail around managing endings.
A useful text in supporting student social workers understanding of counselling skills and how they may be applied.
