I found this book extremely insightful for both my practice as a family support worker and in my capacity as a Health and Social Care Lecturer. I found that all the materials were up to date and relevant. The book is well structured and easy to read. I am fortunate to have been lectured by one of the authors years back. The book offers practical and realistic methodologies to scholars and practitioners who seek to relate to the world families, young people and children.
Reading this book is a great opportunity to gain a good knowledge base. It is well written and easy to read meaning that my foundations degree students will be in a position tackle difficult concepts and theories and incorporate them in their assignments. I personally was able to read the book front to cover in 2 days which is refreshing. I feel very confident encouraging my students to read this book as a starting point in the assignment preparation.
Excellent read for students on Foundation Degree Programmes
this book covers different themes that relate to policy and theoretical perspectives around changing families and practice when working with children and young people. This will be excellent for a book review assignment for one of our modules that covers aspects of families and the influences of policy and society have on the outcomes for children and young people.

Another text book that supports my level 5 learners in the arena of multi agency working. It gives clear direction and will aid them in their simulation case studies.
Very useful text for those course that include work with parents and families
The book proved popular with last years Yr 2 cohort and is being strongly recommended to current students as it has content which relates directly to all Yr 2 modules and most yr 1 modules plus the writing styles across the chapters are excellent and the conpact segments format stikes a chord with busy students
Module reading lists are set by the university from which we franchise the programme and were not revised this year but college staff will work to ensure it is made a key text at the next revision opportunity
