Part of the SAGE Key Concepts series, Key Concepts in Operations Management introduces a selection of key concepts and techniques in the field. Concise, informative and contemporary, with consideration given to explaining the principles of the topic, as well as the relevant debates and literature.
Over 50 concept entries include: Operations Strategy, Managing Innovation, Process Modeling, New Product Development, Forecasting, Planning and Control, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management and many more. Fully cross-referenced and accompanied by further reading.
An outstanding reference for Operations Management students at all levels.
'Key Concepts in Operations Management takes a fresh approach to the subject by re-examining its boundaries as well as its content. It therefore offers a unique approach that can be used as a useful alternative to existing texts, or to supplement them by presenting a complementary perspective' -
David Bennett, Aston Business School, Aston University
'Using interesting examples and a relaxed style, this book is a very readable and useful resource for students and academics who wish to understand not only the basic tools and techniques of operations, but also to see how modern operational practices have developed, by setting them within their historical, theoretical and conceptual context' -
Melanie Hudson-Smith, Lecturer in Operations Management, Plymouth Business School
I will be using the book on the concepts in operations. Many good insights are included.

Worked well alongside key concepts in hospitality management
Key concepts text to support the main teaching of operations management. Very helpful to undergraduate students.
A good introductory textbook that is ideal for students new to this area.
This will be an essential text book for the Operations Management module on the MSc International Business module.
It is a great 'one-stop' resource for all aspects of Operations for students who have never studied this topic before
The book is sound in content, but at too elementary a level for adoption in most porgrammes where I teach. I use my own text "Bamford and Forrester, Wiley" for the modules where I teach. It has a similar concept (concise, not overly padded, etc.) but has greater coverage and is more suited to my teaching.
Good supporting text for those students studdying opertaional management
For my masters course in Operations Management, I need a standard text book. "Key Concepts in Operations Management " is good for quick reference.
Very interesting and well advanced informations are placed in every chapters. I recommend this book to my students and academicians
