Ophra Leyser-Whalen

Ophra Leyser-Whalen is a medical sociologist whose research focuses on women’s reproductive health. She has studied issues of infertility, sterilization, and contraception. She completed her PhD in sociology from the University of Kansas and was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women’s Health at the University of Texas Medical Branch prior to taking her current position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at The University of Texas at El Paso.
