Sharon Werning Rivera

Sharon Werning Rivera specializes in the post-communist region of Eurasia with a particulat emphasis on Russia. Her research and teachings interests in the field of comparative politics include comparative democratization, elite political culture, the transformation of elites in post-communist settings, and the diffusion of ideas. Rivera's articles have appeared or are forthcoming in Perspectives on Politics, Political Studies, Party Politics, Post-Soviet Affairs, Journal of Political Science Education, PS: Political Science Politics, and Europe-Asia Studies. She has received several awards from Hamilton College for developing her simulated election campaign for use in the Government Department's 100-level course in Comparative Government.
