Four Sage U.S. College Publishing textbooks in psychology, sociology, leadership studies, and research methods have been honored by the Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA) in its 2025 awards.

Sage textbooks were recognized in all three award categories:

McGuffey Longevity Award: This award celebrates textbooks that have stood the test of time by demonstrating excellence over multiple editions.

  • Introduction to Leadership: Concepts and Practice, Sixth Edition by Peter G. Northouse
  • Social Psychology: Twelfth Edition by Saul Kassin, Steven Fein, and Hazel Rose Markus

Most Promising New Textbook Award: This award recognizes excellence in first editions with strong potential for longevity.

  • Essentials of Research Methods for Educators by Anastasia Kitsantas, Timothy J. Cleary, Maria K. DiBenedetto, and Suzanne E. Hiller

Textbook Excellence “Texty” Award: Awarded to textbooks that excel in content, presentation, and pedagogical design.

  • Social Problems: Sociology in Action, Second Edition by Maxine P. Atkinson and Kathleen Odell Korgen

"We are honored to have our textbooks recognized once again by the Textbook & Academic Authors Association,” said Maggie Stanley, Director, U.S. College Editorial at Sage. “This year, TAA limited each publisher to no more than five nominations, making these wins even more significant in highlighting the impact of Sage’s publishing program — from established bestsellers to promising first editions. I would like to commend the extraordinary efforts of our authors and the dedication of our publishing teams in delivering trusted, engaging, and evidence-based content to support successful student learning outcomes."

The award winners were celebrated at the TAA awards ceremony on Friday, April 25th.
