New Delhi, 3 June 2025
To commemorate two decades of the impactful Apollo Medicine, the official journal of the Apollo Hospitals group, hosted a special anniversary celebration on 3rd June 2025 at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. The event brought together distinguished members from the medical, academic, and publishing communities to celebrate the journal’s remarkable journey and future direction. As the publishing partner, Sage was proud to support this milestone occasion that spotlighted Apollo Medicine’s enduring commitment to advancing evidence-based research and clinical excellence.
The celebration was graced by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, as the Chief Guest. In a compelling keynote address, Prof. Sood emphasised the critical role that medical journals play in bridging the gap between scientific research and societal well-being. “Medical journals like Apollo Medicine are pillars of progress—amplifying credible research, shaping policy, and ultimately enhancing patient care. As India moves forward with initiatives like the One Health Mission and One Nation One Subscription (ONOS), the accessibility and quality of research dissemination become more vital than ever,” he added.
A major highlight of the event was the release of Apollo Medicine’s 20th special anniversary edition – a commemorative issue reflecting on 20 years of the journal’s legacy, including a special feature of its 20 most cited articles that have shaped critical conversations in the healthcare domain. Sharing his reflections on the journey, Dr. Raju Vaishya, Chief Editor of Apollo Medicine, shared— “From its modest beginnings, Apollo Medicine has evolved into a respected voice in healthcare. This anniversary reaffirms our commitment to medical knowledge, scientific rigour, and impactful publishing. We are grateful to all contributors and look forward to continuing this legacy of excellence.”
The event also celebrated top-performing Apollo researchers, including those among the top 2% of scientists globally, as well as individuals with an H-Index exceeding 35, honouring their contributions to advancing clinical research and patient care.
Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group, congratulated the editorial board and contributing researchers. Gracing the occasion, she spoke, “As we navigate new frontiers in medicine—be it genomics, AI, or pandemic preparedness collaborative research will be the keystone of innovation. Journals like Apollo Medicine play an essential role in connecting practitioners, researchers, and policymakers with resourceful evidence.”
Speaking on the occasion, Sugata Ghosh, Deputy Managing Director, Sage India, said, “It is an honour to partner and participate in this defining milestone for Apollo Medicine on this landmark occasion. At Sage, we believe in the power of knowledge to transform societies, and we remain committed to our mission to support cutting-edge research that informs, inspires, and innovates.”
