Jahn Jaramillo

Jahn Jaramillo, MPH, is a Ph.D. candidate in Prevention Science and Community Health at the University of Miami and holds an MPH from the University of Washington. With over a decade of experience in public health, he has worked with the CDC in Atlanta and Guatemala, the WHO in Thailand and the Philippines, and RTI International in Seattle. His emerging research focuses on HIV prevention, LGBTQ+ and Latino health, and implementation science. A former Fulbright Scholar and current Point Foundation Flagship Scholar, Jahn began his public health journey as a case manager at an HIV/AIDS organization in New York City. His research focuses on advancing health equity for sexual and gender minorities, particularly immigrant Latino sexual minority men. Jahn was awarded an NIH F31 Predoctoral Fellowship to adapt an “employment as HIV prevention” intervention for Spanish-speaking men with immigration histories. His work aims to strengthen culturally responsive, community-grounded HIV prevention efforts in one of the nation’s most affected regions.
