Liora Hendelman-Baavur

Liora Hendelman-Baavur is a Senior Research Fellow at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies and a lecturer in the Lester and Sally Entin Faculty of Humanities at Tel Aviv University. She is the author of Creating the Modern Iranian Woman: Popular Culture Between Two Revolutions (Cambridge University Press, 2019), which received the Latifeh Yarshar Book Award from the Association for Iranian Studies in 2022. Her research explores gender, media, and visual politics in Iran across the Pahlavi monarchy and Islamic Republic, with a focus on how images and media practices shape political authority, identity, and resistance.
