Agreement
Sage has an agreement with EIFL to assist with open access article processing charges (APCs) for eligible authors.
To qualify for the agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with an eligible institution in an EIFL country and have an accepted article in an eligible journal that enters production between January 01, 2026, and December 31, 2028.
Publish in a gold open access journal
Corresponding authors in the following eligible member countries will not have to pay an article processing charge (APC) when publishing an article in a gold open access journal. For participating journals view the gold journal title list:
Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malawi, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, Zambia, Zimbabwe
Corresponding authors in the following eligible member countries will receive a 50% discount on their article processing charge (APC) when publishing an article in a gold open access journal. For participating journals view the gold journal title list:
Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Fiji, Georgia, Kosovo, Maldives, Moldova, Namibia, North Macedonia, Uzbekistan
Corresponding authors of eligible organizations with an active subscription to Sage Premier* in the following eligible member countries will receive a 20% discount on standard article processing charges (APCs) when publishing an article in a gold open access journal. For participating journals view the gold journal title list:

This discount will be applied automatically in Sage Journals: Licensing & Payment. Where an author is eligible for more than one discount, discounts cannot be combined but the highest discount available to the author will be applied to the APC due.
